Easy to make with a drill and a recycling bin.
Question by dbb: Will a styrofoam cooler be good enough to start a worm farm with, will it last long or will it decompose?

I had a little worm farm for awhile. I used a metal chest, and it works great, i thnk the worms liked it to. Styrofoam coolers eventually break down but i’m sure it could work for awhile.
It will last a long time, but if the side walls are thick, that might cause problems for the little holes you have to drill. Also, their castings are so tiny, you’ll lose a lot in the bumps of the styrofoam. Why not just get a nice plastic bin?
I happened to be in farmvideo.com one day last week or so.And ,well ,as you know, one thing leads to another and you find yourself researching things.I found some interesting things on wormfarming in the house for recycling and also outdoor composting. There are also kits you can buy to start an actual wormfarm for a home business.Clik on these sites and you will find links to other sites with more information.Hope this helps.
It would work fine and no, they won’t decompose.
