This family of ducks also lives on the distillery grounds, raised by the owners. Their numbers are controlled "by omelette", as one of the guys stated.
Question by Jack Cousin age 13: i’m raising ducks, what type and size of pen should i keep them in when the get older, also, what food they eat
i need to know what type of shelter these ducks would need starting from ducklings until they let loose. i also want to know what kind of food to give them when they are little until they become mature adults. help me please!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Chick crumb is the best food to feed to all foul water foul, you local pet store should be able to get this for you.
I would go for a large bag, they like to eat.
At around 10 – 12 wks old I would put them on mixed corn and greens. Cabbage, sprouts, wild weeds and flowers. No lettuce.
I would give each adult duck 10 sq feet or 3 sq meters. As babies keep them in a rabbit hutch enclosure at night, clean every other day. If it is going to be cold give them straw or hay. They will want hey for laying eggs on when they are adults too.
I use a hard shell children’s pool for my ducks.
I hope this helps… please let me know how the little fellas get along!
