25 Responses to TF2: 10 Tips for Market Gardening!
Holy crap, 100 subs on my first video! I’d give you all a free hat if I
could.
A good video, but I completely disagree with you on the base jumper usage.
Learn to rocket jump well. Very well. Then, use the base jumper as much as
you want. It opens up so many unreal possibilities and crazy maneuvers,
it’s ridiculous. You are only predictable and easy to shoot down if you
don’t know how to do it correctly. In fact, a person who knows how to use
the base jumper well is even more unpredictable than someone without it.
Trust me. I’m on my way to a Hale’s own market gardener, and the Base
Jumper has been my number one asset so far.
Also, it’s a stretch, but practice bunny hopping too. It’s a lot safer and
smarter to just jump away if you miss a swing, but bunny hopping is still a
possibility. If you jump immediately after hitting the ground, you’ll still
be considered as being “in the air”, so you’ll still crit. Especially
useful versus heavies and other soldiers, IE, first swing doesn’t kill them
but still lands, use another one to finish them off.
Good luck to all market gardeners out there, and I hope to see you on the
battlefield.
I found a cool Hightower jump. You can go to the sniper tower, jump towards
the medium health pack and do that trick where you let yourself hit the
ground shortly and fire another rocket behind you and strafe towards the
other tower. You will have travelled far enough to not only Mantread a guy,
but if you miss, you can Garden him too. Also good if you are one of those
jumpers who likes to garden in the stairways. I have never been able to
actually pull off a garden with my little jump but it’s cool and fast.

Almost all TF2 valve servers are located in US which mean you guys those
live in US can get around 30-100 ping which is basically awesome for rocket
jumper . But for me and many others who live in Asia , for instance myself
, I am living in Hong Kong getting over 350 all the long ! Causing the
delay between Mouse1 pressed and the Projectiles shoot out is so huge .
I can play difficult jump map on localhost but not even manage to pass the
few first stages in servers
I am just so horrible at speedshots. I do the tips they give, I try it, but
I fan never get to that part on jump maps without having to go through the
hard ones that are pointless like Wallpogoing and Diagonal Wallpogoing.

Yeah if you are good, you will have a good time shovelin’… but your
enemies won’t have a good time for sure. Also applies the other way around,
it’s not fun for you if you are bad (DUH!). And your enemies will at least
have a good target to practice airshots or counter-gardening…
The base jumper tip I agree with. I will always try to melee a market
gardener like I would anyone with a melee out. However, the second I see
that base jumper, I will no longer possess tolerance.
these tips are really good! however, when it comes to predicting your
targets movement, there are some instances where your target is about as
unpredictable as deadpool. in those scenarios, It comes down to pure luck.

Goddamn. This was really good. I have over 250 hours on soldier and
probably half of that as a trolldier and I can sort of confirm to listen to
this man, he knows what he’s doing. Also subbed.
How do you get another market garden? When I was f2p and didn’t know any
better, I deleted it from my backpack to conserved space. I would really
love to try it, looks like fun.
I would be still good but,I lost my Password and now my Rocket
jumper,Mantreads and my Market Gardener,I wanna regain and go again but it
will take months.
Don’t *ever* move backwards if you see a market gardener soldier flying at
you. Try to run underneath him. He usually can’t strafe around fast enough.
Nate I can already tell that you’re going to be a great youtuber I was one
of your first subs so I would know. Anyway great vid I hope to play with
you sometime!
on number 4: I always use the base jumper *unexpectedly*, only opening it
for a short time, you will never believe how many people miss me when I use
the base jumper just because I straffe side to side and constantly close
and open it.

I generally like sd_doomsday for market gardening since it has a pretty
high skybox and it was the place where I made my first market gardener
kill.
