  1. All species of tilapia do best in warm water. They grow extremely fast, and by 5 months of age can weigh about 1 pound (or almost 1/2 kilogram). I think that 1kg in six months may be a little too optimistic, but they are the fastest growing fish for fish farming and taste great, so don’t get discouraged if they don’t meet the goal that you have set for them.   2. you can feed your tilapia with commercial feeds that are already available try the website of b-meg or purina these are the commercial feeds suppliers
