If you use an organic hydroponic plant food like Botanicare Pure Blend Pro,
you don’t have the mineral salts and don’t have to flush. But when you use
organic hydro, you can’t use a TDS meter since there are no mineral salts
to read. But once you figure out the right amount of nutrients (figure half
what is recommended) and when to replace, all is good.
@arthurdickson Hi – I change the solution about every 2 weeks which seems
to work just fine. I dump the old nutrient solution on outside plants – my
raspberries love the stuff!

2 and a half gal. The black bucket will allow a bit more root mass but will
not reduce plant growth significantly. It looks a little better for display
– black top, black bucket, etc. Thanks for your comment!

@avendanoj213 Thanks for the comment! Pump is on all the time (24/7). Roots
need a steady supply oxygen to help stay healthy.
You sir is a very helpful man when it comes to hydroponic gardening.. i
love the video about the rapid rooter clones, it was because of that video
I ran out and purchased the rapid rooter.. Thank you for the information,
videos and time.. Plz keep them coming 🙂 – Dan
MASSIVE ROOTS! Love it! I’ve tried searching around online about this, but
my question is, do you necessarily need the air stone, I understand it
breaks the air into smaller particals but would it be suffecient enough to
run the air hose line in it without the air stone attatched?
@suriVJD Yes! Checkout my more recent video post Easiest DWC Hydroponic
System just search rwkleinman and select the one I indicated. I have five
of these going and getting excellent results from all.

No.. thank you, encouraged me to try some new systems, and some new
techniques on my peppers
@210482fmj I change the nutrient solution every 2 to 4 weeks but continue
eating my basil, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. throughout the entire process. The
taste is not affected and I am still alive! I occasionally give a quick,
gentle rinse with a spray nozzle directly through the plant’s medium and
only flush in large systems to help remove excess mineral salts from the
growing medium.

Your video answers my problem, my plant burn from start to finish. The
bottle says Target EC 2000 (1280 ppm) BS….. 500-1000 max like you said is
correct, and I would even keep it less then max. You can grow plants as low
as 30%
u knw about Hydroponics DWC bucket system with fogger and drip system? PLS
HELP

is tds and ppm the same thing, this is what confuses me…and is between
500 and 1000 the number you want for all plants?…and if your over or
under how do you adjust that?

that too much fertilizer is usually not a good thing.
