  1. I feel sorry for the chickens, losing their children in front of their own
eyes everyday. That doesn’t stop me from eating them though lol!!!

  3. Goodness, I used take care of my grandparent’s hen house..memories. We had
a problem with their hens being cannibals though. They would sometimes eat
the eggs after they layed. They were well fed.

  11. Interesting, the chickens look like Rhode-island-reds. I am working to get
my own coop built and have at least 30 or 40 laying hens.

  20. They look happy indeed, reds are egg machines – but they do not forage. My
ornamental bantams and heritage layers go foraging all over thee property
instead of acting like these reds and just hovering around the grainfood.
I’ve had reds before and they would stand on my front doorstep squawking at
me to feed them whilst my other birds were perfectly happy eating bugs all
day. Their genetics are unnaturally fast growing, thus making them into
unnatural creatures. The bantam eggs I produce taste thousands of times
better then even these “free range” Organic reds eggs, I know because I
    have tried this breed.
