Not sure if you are talking about raising fish in the ocean in pens or raising crops & fish in barrels on land. If it is the latter, then check out this link. Waimanalo Gardens is an absolutely amazing place. I toured it a couple of months ago & was so impressed.

I would say taro is a bigy for Hawaii, and Has a History. Here is a link about it. (poi is made out of taro root)
