The downside of hydroponics is that you have to purchase “plant food” or
nutrients and supplements that are more costly.

Those crazy Japanese.. always figuring out more efficient ways of doing
things. The problem I see with this setup is the lack of labor. Labor is
needed so people have jobs so they can buy the produce. No jobs = no money
= no reason to grow in the first place.

Great, but these vegetables contain no micronutrients like selenium,
copper, zinc, etc. The only food they get is based on liquid fertilizer.

Aquaponics/hydroponics is an amazing system because it save a lot of time,
man power and even it provide a fully nutritional product with
required nutrients

Efficient, yes, labour-saving, yes, nutritious produce – NO !!! To function
properly the human body needs around 60 different minerals, all of which
come from the soil, not from some liquid concoction made in a
factory/laboratory. If I had the choice, I will never ever buy such
produce, never !!!
Hydroponic taste better too,the lettuce does. It’s so crisp and fresh that I
can eat it without dressing,no bitter or medicine taste.I could even regrow
it because the roots are still intact.Only thing is it’s expensive, and most
is not grown organically.I’m going to grow my own hydro food, organically.

The genetic make up of soil and hydroponic grown vegetables are identical,
the nutritional content is very similar if not identical. The difference is
that hydroponics provide more flexibility in regard to where and when
plants are grown, and the speed at which they’re grown. If you prefer soil,
enjoy 🙂
I would love to use this in aquaponics as soon as people realise fish are
Fukushima ed tilapia will be valuable, no normally into mono crops but this

just need to grow some fish under and you wont need the fertileiser and
make more money 😛
The beautiful thing about many hydroponic systems is the plants and open
atmosphere naturally oxygenize the water. The plants then feed the fish,
which then provide nutrients to it all. Some of the best hydroponic systems
are almost a complete ecosystem.

A fascinating automated hydroponic farm that requires very little labor and
no worker experience (until it breaks).
