http://www.jandjacres.net/2013/08/25/homestead-hydroponics-101/ I have always been weary of hydroponics. Frankly, I do not like that it takes extra space and…

I have also seen some folks soak the rock wool in the hyro solution to
start the seeds off as well. I guess the thought being that there is
already some fertilizer ready to get the seed/seedling kickin. Do you plan
on using air stones and a pump, or going Kratke(sp?) style?
Is really easy once it’s up & running.. To be honest I was peeking &
fussing over the swimmers for about 3 months until I started to relax &
just trust my instincts.. Would love to be able to give you a tour & have a
chat about how it has gone for us… Would be slightly different for you
species wise though.. Cheers Jared..
Whoo Hooo Let the Hydroponics begin! When Bobby started his he was kinda
not to sold on it himself. I watched as he grew and he ended up with an
awesome set up. He still does both though and so do I. (soil as well as
hydroponically) So glad to see you give it a try…to me it’s just
fun….and everyone I mean everyone becomes amazed how things are grown in
this way…so its a conversation starter for sure 🙂 -Lucky
Your doing great, I hate to spend money on stuff to so I am always buying
stuff “out of season”, but if the hydro doesn’t work out you just start
your seedlings earlier inside for next season. So the money was not a
waste. Good luck if you need more net cups I have some i can send if you
like hydroponics.

I will be sure to keep that in mind. Thank you Wes 🙂
Good job. For me, I like having options. With greenhouses, raised beds,
outside gardens, and hydroponics…I have a lot of options. I leave the
block of squares intact until the seedlings are ready to go in the net
pots, but your way should work fine. That’s the cool thing about posting
videos. We all do things a little bit differently.
Thanks Rob. One day my wife wants to have fish like you do – but that is a
ways off. I wouldn’t mind the fish for supper’s sake, but from the outside
looking in, the system setup seems overwhelming.
Yeah it can become costly however once your set up its done…my partner
still prefers food from the soil garden…she says it just tastes better
lol I like hydro myself for the control of things…to me its just
easier….to set it up and let it run…there are ups and downs of course
to the whole thing and you will see as you go through your journey…I look
forward to watching it…. 🙂
Thank you, Bobby. Options defiantly speak to me – as I could grow lettuce
indoors all summer long no matter the heat, drought, etc. If all goes well
I will probably make a light setup like your last video. The 1 bulb light
kinda worries me.
I hope to be starting this on a small scale this winter myself.. looks like
I will finally have the time to.. so please do keep posting videos.. and
any direction from Bobby is awesome.. I know many people that appreciate
his videos so much!!
Hey r u gonna do a video on the next step ?

My skepticism is still strong, but I want to do my best with it so that it
gets a fair shot… my best shot without spending a lot of money that is…

I agree – but I am looking to not spend any extra money. If I see some
reasonable results, I may invest is some better equipment.

Hydro is great. I’m not sure about that fish tank light. It might be a
little weak.
