Question by feelin Witchy: organic gardening?
I want to have an organic herb garden. But because I have waited too long is it ok to buy starter plants that have a bit of pesticide used on them and never use pesticides again? Does the pesticide wash off? Can I just pinch off the part that had the pesticide used on it?

  1. I would think that if you are not planning on certifying your herbs for sale, buying starter plants from a regular nursery and never using pesticides again would be a good bet. Most herbs are pesticidal in their own right in any case, i.e. mints.

  2. The little bit of pesticide and fertilizer they used in the starter plant, isn’t going to hurt the “organic” route you are going. Just don’t use anymore, and you will be fine.
Good for you for going organic. Take care & God bless!

  3. yes go ahead just dont use it any more
and don`t eat the present leaves
the new leaves that come later will be Ok

the herb garden is more important than a few leaves with pesticide on it
