Chickens are much messier, since they metabolize fast and poo and shed feathers and stuff. They’re also not as intelligent, so you should get a dog if you want a companion pet that is more trainable.
My dog eats chicken, bones and all. He thinks it’s yummy in his tummy n_n
i think you should get a dog because dogs are actually compatable with humans and chickens just poop on everything while dogs can actually learn commands and can actually understand human facial expressions and act acordingly
Depends on your lifestyle. If you have the room in your backyard for a chicken hut to fit one or two chickens then sure. Or if you are sure you want to except the responsibility of getting a dog. (dogs are like a new baby in the house)
Remember before you get either animal do a ton of research first like where you want to get the animal and if they are in good health and you are buying from a responsible seller or rescuer.
if you want something to take for a walk and stroke get a dog. If you want something to to live off (i.e) eggs for breakfast and meat to eat get a chicken
definitely a chicken but not just one , i have four they lay every day . very friendly always round my feet in the garden . they make a lovely noise when talking to each other. keep the slug & snail population down in the garden. the eggs are yummy never buy a shop egg again, there easy to look after, clean out once aweek, feed every day .

I think a dog would be easier. Chickens dont live as long and are not cuddly.

Dogs are less work to take care of, and cheaper. You’d probably like it better too.

If you’re interested in eggs, I’d vote for the chicken.
