  1. I wonder if you can just drink that milk right out of that one machine?

  2. Oh no but the New World Order don’t want this for us. That’s bad if it is
not genetically modified. Death to the New World Order.

  3. everything dies sometimes. And around here the male calves are raised as
steers for a few years before being butchered. This is far better than how
these cows would fare in nature.

  4. Hi Farmer Banson and Rosie, Yeah to all the organic dairy farmers who grass
feed their cattle! Makes the milk rich in Omega-3 fatty acids – like
getting your fish oil – without the fish! Organic Valley is an awsome
organization but I have to agree with JackNeedles – Raw milk rules!

  11. Farms like this put a smile on my face! Look how happy the cows are and how
nice and genuine the farmer was! The cows were all clean and did’t looked
stressed. They looked lazy and spoiled which is how every cow should live
    their life!

  12. Dairy cows need to be bred once a year to keep producing milk for the
season. I know this to be true of the grass fed farms in our area. They
allow some of their cows to dry up for the winter and only keep milking
enough of the cows for milk for a certain number of families. The cows will
be “freshened” or bred and will have calves in the spring.

  14. Yes. The natural reproductive cycle for callte & other large herbivors is
to produce young every year, as these species do in the wild. Dairy cattle
must ‘freshen’ approx every 12 months. It’s easier to time that with the
spring flush of forage in your area & dry the cow off for two months prior
to calving. See the Acres USA & The StockmanGrassFarmer websites for
articles & books on small scale dairying. Good luck w/your heifers. BTW, it
may be easier for beginners to start w/a proven cow..

  20. Most people these days don’t know the real flavor of milk because of the
way so many farmers manage their cows. Don’t believe the Happy California

  24. Farmers keep old dairy cows? Most dairies are run as a business and are for
profit. They don’t just keep cows that don’t serve a purpose. Sorry, the
idea is nice though. Cows would make great pets!

legal in my state! (MA) I hear though it’s still illegal in key states like
    WI.
