I read a book or two, and now my bees have arrived. Time to put them into the hive. Great filming with a surprise ending.

Next time spray sugar water on the bees so they clump together and cannot fly. You will be able to pour them all into the hive without them flying around making it so hard.
Also put the queen cage vertical so the marshmallow is on top.
Holy CRAP!! What a fun video. I am getting 2 packages around 5/24/11 and I have been watching package installs all day. Gotta say this is the BEST!! So tell me… 3 years later, how is the hive doing??
hilarious video……thanks for posting it…it brought a smile to my face during a time that they have been hard to come by ….:) ….good luck with your bees….you all seemed to be having a log of fun and again…i thank you for sharing it.. 🙂

does the woman holding the camera always talk that much?
Cool vid, but you should have shot them with sugar syrup BEFORE removing the feeding can. The objective is to get them ‘drunk’ on sugar syrup, and then you can get all of the out with little effort. All in all I think you did a good job for your first shot.
He didn’t have to wear a huge ass suit all you really need is 2 layers of close and a vail the bee’s will no sting you unless you approach then in a mean way. And also the react to your emotions if you come in looking mad they will be mad too.

Just to let her know. Your wife used swarm incorrectly. A swarm is a group of bees with a queen looking for a home. that package is an artificial swarm. It is not a swarm when theyre just flying. I just wanted to tell her because the more you know about bees, the less likely you are to get stung.
FUNNY GUY HE MAKES THE VIDEO FUN HAHAHA (^_-)
