What are these mysterious bites all over my daughter?

Question by kristinmae123: What are these mysterious bites all over my daughter?
My daughter keeps waking up with her body covered in bites. She is covered from her feet to everywhere including behind her ears. She has already had chicken pox so it is not that. My other daughter sleeps in the same bed but she doesn’t have anything. Please help me figure out what this could be!
We do not have animals and no one else in our house has bites. Our daughters share a king size bed so if they are bed bugs if one has them why doesn’t the other?

  2. It could be bed bugs, they’ve been in the news lately. They’re even in some of the finer hotels, and have been increasing, as the government has taken most of the effective pesticides off the market.

  3. The two guesses that you have must be correct. Bed bugs don’t necessarily attack everyone. It depends on the type of blood, and the skin etc. It is similar to that of mosquitoes where there are some people who are more prone to being bitten by mosquitoes, when the next person doesn’t receive any bites.

Also, chicken pox can occur more than once. I know that it is a common belief that it can only happen once, but it can happen multiple times, although it is very rare.

I hope that this helps you.

  4. Has your daughter been playing outside near any ant hills? Could be that she was attacked by fire ants. Take a look around and see if there are any hills in your backyard or the area she commonly plays in. This could also be something else besides bug bites like a reaction to a change in soap or laundry detergent. Have you changed anything like this recently? I have sensitive skin and would get little red bumps whenever my mom changed ours as as a kid. If this is the case, not to worry, just change it back to what it was and the bumps should go away on their own. If you changed the laundry detergent and washed the sheets she is sleeping on…bingo. That would explain why your other daughter hasn’t shown even a single “bite.”
