A bit more beekeeping training before Siobahn heads of for hols and leaves me in charge for the summer… Argh!
Question by gothic_amethyst: How much income can you get from beekeeping?
I love honey and was curious how much income people get from beekeeping? There’s several beekeepers around here, so I assume enough to be worth the equipment and stings?

The truth is that beekeeping is no for the money. You will get some money for the honey, and the other bee products like wax & propolis are valuable, but unless you go into it on a commercial scale, the income will not cover the costs.
But beekeeping is still worth doing. It is a fascinating hobby, & once you start, you will not be able to stop – it really is addictive! Ask any backyard beekeeper & they’ll tell you it’s the best thing they’ve ever done. Delicious honey, fascinating insects, and saving the planet – give it a go!
